I’m just going to ask one simple question.
Why hasn’t the United States already launched an overwhelmingly armed operation to recover the remains of our citizens murdered today in Fallujah, and punish those responsible?
Their body parts are still hanging from that bridge.
What the hell is wrong with us?
UPDATE: Bremer has since commented and said the deaths "will not go unpunished". Steven Den Beste makes a good case for a measured, pinpointed military response to the atrocities. There was a lot of interesting ongoing conversation on the Fallujah atrocities at The Corner today. (See especially here, here, here, and here.)
Judith has also done one of her titanic roundups on the subject.
